Today I want to share with you my mini collage landscapes from the 100 Days Project 2025.
This has been the second and so far the most successful (in many ways) project for me and I already feel that it will be hard to beat this one next year!
My main goal was committing to a daily practice, so the trick was to introduce enough limitations to make it relatively easy to stick to the schedule, but also leave enough room for experimentation to avoid getting bored before the end of the project.
To be completely honest after about half of the project was done I started feeling that I’m running out of ideas for compositions and colour combinations. That’s where referring to several Van Gogh’s landscapes helped me to get inspired again as I was reimagining them using collage. And of course it turned out that I didn’t explore nearly enough compositions, I just needed some external input (thanks, Vincent).
My goal definitely wasn’t creating “perfect work”, but I’m really happy with the result and I love how this collection is a sum of all its 100 parts.
I find that creating many pieces usually helps to balance out the imperfections of a single piece and I like how all the landscapes look together. I think this project helped me to develop this mindset shift around how I see my work and not think about it in terms “good” or “bad”, but focus more on enjoying the process.
I hope you enjoy the sketchbook tour!
Thank you for reading, watching and being here. I really appreciate your time. Feel free to share this post with a creative friend and I’d be glad to hear from you in the comments!
