I didn’t plan to do the 100 Day Project until the very last day, but then I listened to Kellee Wynne on the Made Remarkable Podcast and it inspired me so much that I decided to give it a go (find more info at#The100DayProject Newsletter) .
It is the first time I join the challenge, so I am very excited!
I decided to focus on landscapes in watercolours. I am doing the project at my own pace, which means I am not necessarily creating 1 piece per day, but rather something like several pieces every other day.
Before embarking on the journey I created a list of loose rules for my project:
Create 100 mini watercolour landscapes (my current palette)
Work in one sketchbook (I use this sketchbook)
Show up at my own pace. Consistency and having an end date in mind is important, but life is life and I know I won’t be able to work every single day, so the goal is to work most days and sometimes create several landscapes per session
My process also includes creating value studies, compositional thumbnails and colour studies, which can be done on separate papers or in a separate sketchbook
Focus on consistency, not on results
Repeat ideas and experiment with adjusting parameters
Experiment with styles and techniques
Focus on simplifying shapes & composition
Here’s the first batch of my landscapes!
Are you doing the 100 Day Project this year?
Thanks for being here!
Until next time!
Lisa
